Mike Holstonп, who goes by the social media handle The Real Tarzaп, showed off an incredible clip of him taking the 705 lb (319 kg) monster for a walk with a friend.
The Star reported that the giant cat – called Apollo – met Mike and wildlife observer Kody Antle in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In the clip, Kody says: “This big guy’s name is Apollo and he’s the biggest cat on the planet.”
Mike added: “Now the question is, what will this thing eat? I believe it will eat everything in sight, everything in sight.
“I think a pack of these would take down a herd of elephants compared to normal elephants in one bite.
“It’s a majestic beast, and it can reach speeds of 40 miles in a few strides.”
Those who saw Mike and Apollo’s remarkable clip were impressed.
While watching a private Instagram video, someone said the giant cat was the same size as a saber-toothed tiger – a species that became extinct 42,000 years ago.
Another said: “That’s not a cat, that’s a monster.” A third person said: “This lion and tiger is CRAZY.”
Lions are mainly kept in zoos and are the largest cats in the world, weighing up to 795 pounds – nearly twice the weight of a lion or tiger.
They can reach a maximum length of 12 ft and over 6 ft tall.
