The Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup truck transforms with a custom version from Kahn Design

Kahn Design has just launched a custom Mercedes-Benz X-Class with a selling price of up to 84,552 USD .

The Mercedes-Benz X-Class version adds a protective barrier to the front bumper, and a new grille with additional vertical slats. The German pickup model still uses 22-inch 5-spoke dual-spoke wheels but adds ventilation details. The entire body of the car is painted black with 3D patterns like a military vehicle.

Customers can order additional bulletproof glass for added safety. Kahn Design said that the Mercedes-Benz X-Class version uses lighter materials than other bulletproof cars.

The cockpit is renewed with high-quality leather seats. The British tuner added hand-sewn details with striking contrast stitching, along with red decorative threads for the seats and interior.

The X-Class pickup was discontinued by Mercedes-Benz due to low sales. The German car company once admitted that this car model was too expensive in many markets. Last year, the company only sold 15,300 units worldwide.

Before discontinuing the X-Class, Mercedes-Benz considered expanding this pickup line. Some photos show that the German automaker has tested a stretched version of the X-Class with a wider rear compartment.

With the failure of the X-Class, Mercedes-Benz will probably only focus on the high-end pickup model Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6 even though this model has a super expensive price and low production volume.
