The Jaguar C-X75 concept was originally unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It appeared the company was close to putting the car into production, but Jaguar ultimately canceled the project after building a few prototypes. sample. Now, renowned designer Ian Callum’s company Callumm has taken the reins, turning one of those models into a road-legal machine as its care trustee.
The C-X75 that Callum had built on the road was one of four stunt cars featured during filming of Specter in 2015. The character Mr. Daʋe Bautista’s Hinx drove it in a chase scene with Daniel Craig’s James Bond in an Aston Martin DB10.
The C-X75 was initially said to use a unique powertrain. It will have four electric motors, each generating 195 horsepower. Additionally, the two turbines will be capable of running on compressed natural gas, diesel, biofuel or LPG to charge the batteries. Jaguar claims the car can hit 62 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph. According to the company, the combined setup will allow for a range of 560 miles.
Jaguar continued development of the C-X75 but abandoned plans to use the turbine as a range extender. The company turned to Cosworth to prepare a turbocharged and turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a 10,000 rpm speed limiter. Additionally, there will be two electric motors – one powering each axle. Total capacity is about 850 horsepower.
The new road-legal C-X75 will make its public debut at the Bicester Heritage Scramble on April 21.
