The cat has a body no different from a funny obese guy

In 2024, a shelter cat in Virginia hopes to get healthy and find love.

Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) shared on social media that one of their cats, at times, has an icy demeanor and large body — earning him the nickname “One Frosty Too Much” – is looking for his forever home in 2024.

The organization describes the gray-white cat with yellow eyes, known as Frosty, as “28.5 lbs. of pudge with a side of crankiness,” and shared a photo of the lightly furred pet being held by one of the animal care staff.

“As long as you let him do what he wants, when he wants, everything is fine; However, we advise you to proceed with caution,” RACC said, adding, “Find him a home.”

The organization also notes that it may take some time for Frosty to grow out of his “cranky” habits, which they think will happen as he thins out “slowly and properly.” The shelter hopes he will become “happier” in doing so.

In a follow-up Facebook post about Frosty shared on Wednesday, the shelter commented that the cat has made great strides in socialization since arriving at RACC.

“This gentleman has certainly come out of his shell since we last advertised for him. Frosty is so sweet, adorable, affectionate and just wants to sit with his human all day,” RACC wrote alongside a video of Frosty receiving a pet.

“He can still stand up and move around quite easily so his weight loss journey won’t be difficult. However, Frosty doesn’t like shelters so we turned one of our cat rooms into a room just for Frosty!” shelter added.

According to RACC, Frosty is still available for adoption and the shelter is currently taking email inquiries to set up “adoption appointments” to meet the cat,

This isn’t the first time Richmond Animal Care and Control has reached out to the public for help finding a home for a cat looking to lose weight. In April, the organization announced that the 40-lb. A cat named Patches found his forever home less than a day after the organization shared a Facebook post extolling the pet’s best qualities.

The Facebook post read: “Meet the patches; all 40.3 POUNDS of him! He has been put on a very special diet, is on an exercise plan and is very sweet.”

After Patches was adopted, RACC posted a video on Facebook of his new owner, Kay Ford, carrying him out of the facility in a large cage.

Ford shared an update a few weeks later saying that Patches was adjusting well to his new home, which he shares with her other pets: a friendly cat named Wellesley and a 13 year old Yorkie named Bella.

He also enjoys his new diet and activity plan, which includes consistent portion sizes and increased play time to help him gradually lose weight. Ford noted that Patches did “fantastic” work and added, “He was amazing.”
