The car is named after the late Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina, who founded the Italian auto design company Pininfarina in 1930, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary next year.
His son, Sergio, who died in 2012 at the age of 85, went on to design some of the most beautiful cars, sports cars, and supercars of the 20th and 21st centuries, including many Ferrari models such as the Testarossa (1984). ), Enzo (2002) and Dino series (1968–76) gave Ferrari major market penetration.
The company is now chaired by Battista’s nephew, Paolo, who said that after decades of designing cars for others, it was a ‘to launch a car bearing the Pininfarina name as a tribute. dream comes true’.
“My grandfather always had the belief that one day there would be a series of independent Pininfarina-branded cars,” he said.
The car is designed around a single-cell carbon fiber chassis with battery packs between the front seats and the rear of the rear front end.
There are four motors, one for each wheel.
The weight distribution of the T-shaped liquid-cooled 120 kWh battery – made from a mixture of lithium, manganese and nickel – is configured to optimize the car’s dynamics.
About 90% of owners are expected to charge at home. The company hopes that the remaining 10% will be made available to networks that charge for app usage, which it expects to have in 2021.
Large, carbon-ceramic six-piston brakes promise fade-free deceleration and extremely efficient brake battery regeneration. The rear spoiler also acts as an air brake to assist in stopping the vehicle.
While the power supply produces silent sounds from the outside, owners will be able to adjust the sound settings to suit their ears.
‘Importantly, the onboard audio program for the Battista will focus on using the vehicle’s hardware for aural pleasure, rather than creating artificial sounds.’
Inside the cockpit are two screens located on either side of the compact steering wheel and tilted toward the dryer.
Convenience dials have been eliminated, with all important information immediately at the front of the dryer, an additional thin screen located in the center.
