A top Premier League star was stunned when police discovered the player’s house had been turned into a cannabis factory.
According to The Sun, the home of a Premier League star was taken over by a criminal gang and turned into a cannabis production facility.
The football player (identity not disclosed) owns a house in the northwest of England and is renting it out. Recently, the police suddenly raided the house and discovered a large-scale marijuana farm.
According to the police, this house was authorized by the above player to a family member to manage the rental. The person who signed the rental contract is a woman. After investigation, police said the woman was forced by a criminal gang to allow them to grow marijuana in her house.
A source from The Sun said: “The Premier League star owns a house in the northwest of England. Another family member manages the property but they couldn’t believe it when police discovered a cannabis factory in the house.”
“The police destroyed all the marijuana plants. In addition, the above player must present documents proving that although he owns the house, he does not live there.
The police also released the woman who rented the house after determining that she had been trapped and coerced by the criminals.
It is known that the number of illegal indoor cannabis farms is increasing in the UK. In June last year, 1,000 suspects were arrested following police raids. The amount of cannabis is estimated to have a total value of up to £130 million.
