Leverkusen is about to lose its first star

Full-back Jeremie Frimpong will almost leave Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window

Bild revealed that Frimpong’s representative believes that his client will definitely part ways with the reigning German champions this summer. The player’s contract release fee is currently only 40 million euros, a number that is too attractive for big European clubs.

At the age of 23, Frimpong has just experienced the most impressive season of his career. He contributed greatly to helping Leverkusen win the Bundesliga championship for the first time with an unbeaten streak of up to 50 matches.

This right back’s performance has made many big clubs in Europe willing to pay a fee to break the contract, which is valid until the end of June 2024.

Because of this clause, German media believes that Frimpong will soon part ways with Bayer Leverkusen right after the 2023/24 season ends.

Leverkusen’s board of directors themselves were also surprised by the player’s rapid progress, so they accepted a contract release fee of only 40 million euros in the past.

MU is currently the most enthusiastic club in recruiting Dutch players. However, the “Red Devils” will have to compete with many other clubs such as Arsenal, Man City or Real Madrid.

At least two-thirds of the Leverkusen squad is likely to leave this summer. Except for coach Alonso signing a new contract, the outstanding talents in the current Leverkusen team are receiving attention from many big clubs. Leverkusen’s financial potential is not enough for them to retain all the stars in the current squad.
