The brazen robbery targeting Jack Grealish’s family on December 28 is related to a larger plot by Manchester criminals.
British police revealed that the robbers who broke into Grealish’s house had planned it for a long time. In November, this criminal gang attacked the Man City star’s villa, but then canceled the plan when they saw police patrolling. Guardian quoted a source from Manchester police, saying that last November, the robbers mentioned above did not know that the Grealish family had not yet moved to live in the villa.
This criminal group was allowed by other gangs in Salford (Manchester) to target the England star. The stolen items will be sent to Spain for consumption.
Manchester police suspect the involvement of businessmen or people connected to famous football players in this criminal plan.
Over the past year, millionaire Premier League players have continuously become targets of criminals. Football players also spend large amounts of money to enhance security, such as hiring security guards or sniffer dogs.
When Man City met Everton in round 19 of the Premier League, about 10 of Grealish’s relatives were present at the player’s villa to watch the match. The robbers broke in right when the English midfielder’s family was gathering, taking a number of watches and jewelry with a total value of up to 1 million pounds.
Grealish’s fiancee Sasha Attwood, parents, grandmother, two sisters and brother were extremely scared. They sought shelter and called the police for help. The group of criminals mentioned above chose the right time when Grealish was playing to attack.
Even when the player’s family did not go directly to the field to watch the match, spending time at home watching on television, this main gang still kept the plan, then boldly acted.
