Cristiano Ronaldo has routinely smashed records throughout his career, and he seems destined to continue this pattern at Euro 2024.

The Portuguese icon is gearing up for an unprecedented sixth European Championship campaign in Germany, and his appearance there will see him continue to stand alone in his achievements.

And just by being named in Portugal’s squad for the summer showpiece, the 39-year-old will be the only player at the tournament to have played over 200 games for their country.

This achievement is made even more remarkable when considering that the Al-Nassr captain will remain the unmatched in this feat when the competition reaches its conclusion on July 14.

Croatia hero Luka Modric will be second highest appearance holder at Euro 2024 with 175 caps, meaning that even if he were to play the maximum seven games, he would still not be able to catch up to Ronaldo.

The Euro 2016 winner will be hoping that this is not the only record he holds by the event’s end date.

He currently has numerous chances to write his name into the history books this summer.

Already the scorer of the most goals in European Championship history, Ronaldo will be looking to extend his lead.

And he will want to become just the second player to win multiple European Championships as captain, joining Spain legend Iker Casillas who won it in 2008 and 2012.

As one of the more senior professionals heading to Germany, he will surely be looking to prove that age is just a number as he targets becoming the oldest player to reach various milestones, including winning the competition.

However, with veteran centre-back Pepe now joining the Portugal side for the tournament at the age of 41, Ronaldo would have to concede these titles to his compatriot.

The Porto defender could pip Ronaldo to five different age-related feats in Germany.

He will start his tournament on Tuesday, June 18 as Portugal face Czechia in Group F.

They are an old foe for Ronaldo and he’s got a great record against them as he looks to kick-start his tournament with a goal.
