Cancelo accused Pep Guardiola of being a ‘liar’ and ungrateful Man City
Joao Cancelo said that coach Pep Guardiola told blatant lies about him and criticized Man City for behaving ungratefully and ungratefully.
The Portuguese international is on loan to Barcelona, after spending the second half of last season playing for Bayern Munich due to disagreements with coach Pep Guardiola.
Barca hopes to buy Cancelo outright next summer but will face competition from several clubs, including Arsenal.
Private sources said that Guardiola was extremely angry when he saw Cancelo’s reaction when he was removed from the official squad.
There was a big conflict between the two teachers and students because the Spanish coach chose Nathan Ake and Rico Lewis to play on the Man City wing, instead of Joao Cancelo.
In A Bola newspaper, Cancelo boasted: “He (Pep) lied. I’ve never been a bad teammate. You can ask Ake or Rico about this.
I don’t have any guilt or jealousy towards them. Man City is ungrateful to make such a statement, because I served 3 years at Etihad.
I always try my best and commit to playing for the club. There was a time when my house was attacked by robbers, but the next day, I still went to the field to play, leaving my scared wife and children behind. That is something that cannot be forgotten.
Everyone attacks me, because Pep Guardiola has more power when talking about an issue. Now I want to expose the truth.”
Joao Cancelo also affirmed that he made the right choice to leave Man City despite missing the opportunity to win the treble.
“Last year, when I was loaned to Bayern Munich, I had no regrets when Man City won the Champions League. I think I made the right choice when I moved to a club that really wanted me.”
