British fisherman caught a 5ft tall carp weighing more than 100lbs that was dubbed a monster!

A British fisherman would work hard to catch this fish because it is one of the largest fish ever landed.

Warren Harrison, 54, drove 2,580 miles across Europe to battle a 5ft long carp weighing 101lb 8oz – the third largest fish ever caught.

Pest controller Mr Harrison visited the 28-acre lake in Hungry, which is famous for its giant fish.

The father of two was sleeping in his small tent when the bite alarm went off.

He grabbed his fishing rod and quickly realized he had hooked a Leviathan.

It took him a grueling half hour to tease the monster from the depths, with sweat pouring down his face despite the sub-zero temperature.

And when Mr Harrison, of Denton, Greater Manchester, finally got it into his hands his friend David Treasure had to help him pull it onto the scales.

“As soon as I held the rod and felt it, I realized it was huge, so I turned to my mate and said ‘This is a monster,’ Warren said.

“Half an hour is a very long time to catch a fish, my arms ached and sweat was pouring down my face. I was boiling but it was so cold that even our kettle froze.

“I kept seeing these big whirlwinds bubbling in the water and when they arose I just thought of ‘Jesus’.

“I couldn’t lift it and we both had to lift it to weigh it. My fingers trembled from the weight as I posed for photos.

“It’s not a world record but I’m still quite happy with it, as it’s the second largest carp caught by a British angler.”

The largest carp ever caught by a Briton was caught by Hampshire’s Stephen Weir at the same location last year and weighed 104lb 2oz. He is just shy of the 105lb 130z world record of Czech angler Tomas Krist – who also landed the monster in Hungary.
