Bellingham officially received a penalty, Real suffered heavy losses
After inappropriate actions with the referee, Real Madrid midfielder Bellingham received a suspension from La Liga.
Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham has been banned from La Liga for two matches after his red card in the match against Valencia. Bellingham will have to sit out again for Real Madrid. The Real Madrid superstar was given a red card in the controversial 2-2 draw with Valencia.
The England international was sent off during extra time for disagreement after arguing with referee Gil Manzano. Bellingham thought he had scored the decisive goal with an accurate header, but the referee blew the whistle to end the match while the ball was still in the air.
Bellingham’s absence is a heavy blow for Real Madrid, who are eight points ahead of the La Liga leaders and in prime position to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League after winning the first leg 1-0 against RB Leipzig.
Bellingham will miss Madrid’s next two matches against Celta Vigo and Osasuna on March 11 and March 16, but he will be available for the Champions League last-16 tie at home to RB Leipzig tomorrow morning.
The England international has scored 20 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions this season for Madrid after signing an £87m deal from Borussia Dortmund last summer. Bellingham has proven his worth, but his hot temper may cause Real more trouble in the future.
Bellingham was last accused of insulting Greenwood, but this incident is still under investigation. The British player needs to control his emotions in the near future to avoid unwanted problems.
