Neymar became the target of ridicule from fans after returning to the training field with a heavy appearance.
On February 15, Neymar appeared at Al Hilal training ground for the first time in many months. The 32-year-old spearhead just arrived in Saudi Arabia earlier this week to recuperate, after ending the New Year’s holiday in his home country of Brazil.
However, the 32-year-old striker attracted attention when revealing a larger than normal waist and heavy steps, which made Saudi Arabia fans unhappy:
“Is this Neymar?”, a fan posted a photo of Neymar and asked a question on social network X. Another person advised: “Neymar should stop playing and focus on horseback riding.”
The Nations also revealed that Al Hilal’s leadership was quite disappointed with Neymar’s unprofessional attitude. Usually, when stars suffer serious injuries, they always have to be conscious of taking care of their bodies to avoid gaining weight. Because that will make it difficult for them during the recovery process.
Faced with rumors about his physical condition, Neymar also publicly showed off his belly on social networks. However, the player’s physique on the Al Hilal training ground recently is something fans can easily see.
In the summer of 2023, Neymar left PSG and joined Al Hilal for 98 million USD. He only played five matches and scored one goal for his new club, before tearing his knee ligament in a match with Brazil in October. The injury required treatment and recovery time of up to 10 months, forcing Neymar to have to Vacation until August 2024. Last month, when returning from Brazil, the 32-year-old striker shocked everyone with his plump image.
Without Neymar’s services, Al Hilal still achieved high results. They are leading the Saudi Pro League with 53 points, seven points ahead of Al Nassr, entering the 1/8 round of the AFC Champions League, King Cup semi-finals and Saudi Arabia Super Cup semi-finals.
Al Hilal’s leadership is worried that Neymar could become a “bomb”, because this team is still paying more than 5 million USD/month in income to the Brazilian player, the highest salary in the tournament.
