An automotive superhero Mercedes-AMG holds lap records at legendary racetracks

There are no inferior people. I know what I have.

The Mercedes-AMG One is an automotive superhero, holding lap records at legendary racetracks like the Nürburgring and Monza. There is currently one for sale for the equivalent of 5.45 million USD.

Exotic car dealer F1rst Motors, based in Dubai, is offering 20 million UAE Dirhams for this AMG One. The dealership did not provide any details about the car’s appearance and confirmed that there were no kilometers on the odometer. While we’re sure the mileage is low, this car must have rolled at least a few feet at some point in its life, so the mileage can’t really be zero.

Like any true superhero, Mercedes has kept at least one fact about the AMG One a secret: Its original price. The company has never released an exact figure, but reports put the cost at between $2 million and $3 million – roughly half the amount the agency was asking for.

That’s what makes this list so appealing. Mercedes reportedly does not allow buyers to flip their AMG One. The first fast food restaurants only started a year ago, so this example cannot be old. Perhaps Mercedes doesn’t actually enforce the no-rollover rule, or this car’s original owner simply ignored requests to turn the car over early before other owners did the same.

In any case, you are unlikely to own this AMG One if you live in the US. This car has never been sold in the United States, which only adds to the car’s exclusivity. Mercedes told potential customers that it would need to adapt the powertrain to meet regulations that “significantly reduce its performance.”

However, someone in the US with enough courage can import an AMG One under the “show or display exemption”. It allows certain special vehicles to enter the country as long as the car is driven only 2,500 miles per year. The process requires a lot of paperwork but it is possible to bring supercars into the country.

The AMG One features a Forмula One-deriʋed powertrain consisting of a 1.6-liter V6 with electric assist turbocharger and four electric motors. This setup delivers a total of 1,049 horsepower. The 8.4 kilowatt-hour battery requires more power than range, as the supercar can only go 11.2 miles on electricity alone.

However, electric range is hardly the focus of the AMG One. It can hit 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and 124 mph in 7.0 seconds. The same top speed is 219 mph, on par with the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, among the fastest cars in the world.

Buyers of this AMG One will join an elite group of supercar owners and drivers. F1 drivers Valtteri Bottas and Nico RosɄerg are among the 275 customers. Plus, Lewis Hamilton helped develop the supercar.
