A very special appearance! On April 6, a female black jaguar was born at England’s Big Cat Sanctuary. While the birth of an animal is an exciting moment, this one is a bigger deal because most black animals are rare, making up only 10% of the population.
While Keira’s mother has typical color characteristics, her father, Nero, is black.
Currently, cυb is referred to as “baby,” but the organization is holding a final vote to give her an official name. The three options for her founder are Inпka, Inпto or Killari – but if you want to give your money, you’ll be asked to pay £5 ($7). Voting will close on January 1, with 25 percent of total proceeds going to Jaguar Conservation in Costa Rica.
Those who vote for the winner will be entered into a raffle to win the mosque’s VIP prize, the chance to receive a license plate at the cυb store and a one-week return trip to the Jagυar I-pace. Voters can make their choice by clicking here.

Mom and me!
“We are so excited to welcome this little wildcat to the Big Cat Sanctuary family. “Our mother Keira has been close for weeks, both in person and the CCTV cameras we have placed to watch her,” manager Briпny Smith shares. “There was no doubt that she was pregnant, all we could do was eagerly await the big day.”

Smith revealed that she was born at 11:10 the next day and “has gone from strength to strength since then. I can’t believe how fast she is growing compared to other big cats and this seems to be normal for jaguars.”
She was born with open eyes and steady steps at 2 weeks old,” she added.

The reserve claims that the birth is part of the European Enhanced Species Breeding Programme.
Their website reads: “Jagυars are classified as ‘threatened’ in their defense against threats from the negative effects of humanity. “It is therefore important to have a stable captive population of Jagυars – any additions to the breeding program for captive species in Europe are extremely important.”
The eyes are so beautiful!
“Now she’s ripping the bottom off and Keira has her hands full, for sure. She has a lot of attitude, especially when her mom decides it’s bath time, and will be very laid back,” Smith shared about cυb. “It has been an absolute joy to watch her grow and develop and I can’t wait for the public to be able to see her once she is allowed to explore her surroundings.”
The reserve hopes that she will be ready to explore her outdoor habitat when the reserve opens to the public in August.
