Wayne Rooney, with his poor performance as coach of Birmingham, was fired

WAYNE ROONEY has had a dismal start to life at Birmingham and is under increasing pressure after a 3-0 defeat to Leeds.

The Manchester United legend joined the Blues in October after they fired John Eustace despite being in the play-offs.

His struggles at Birmingham caused his win rate to decline

Since Rooney took charge, Birmingham have dropped down the rankings and are currently 20th – just 6 points above the relegation zone.

Defeat to Leeds means Wazza has won just two of his 15 matches in charge and lost nine.

That means he has a win rate of just 13.3% – taking his overall win rate as a manager to 26.1% after also struggling at DC United and Derby, lowering take down the already struggling Rams in 2022.

That’s worse than his former United teammates Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, who failed miserably in management.

They scored 35.7 and 30.8% respectively in their short careers, with Neville at Valencia and Scholes at Salford.

Rooney’s winning percentage is even lower than Frank Lampard, who is without a club after a dismal second season at Chelsea.

His win rate at Stamford Bridge was a shocking 9.1% – giving him an overall win rate of 41.3%.

While Steven Gerrard, who played alongside Rooney for England, boasts a better win rate despite his struggles at Al-Ettifaq.

Gerrard’s Saudi Arabian side haven’t won in two months but the former Liverpool star has a pretty good winning ratio in his career thanks to his work at Rangers.

Stevie G won the Scottish Premiership in 2021 and was unbeaten all season, although he did not do too well at Aston Villa when he was sacked after a year in charge.
