Man City has the right to award or not award Premier League 2023/24 championship medals to some players.

Manchester City just won their fourth consecutive Premier League title. Pep Guardiola and his students will receive 40 sets of medals to distribute to team members and coaching staff.

According to regulations, a player will receive a medal when he has made 5 appearances in the Premier League. Clubs have the right to request additional medals if 39 or more players appear on the field more than 5 times. Man City will not have to do this, because they only have 21 players eligible to receive medals.

There will be 4 players who are not eligible to receive Premier League championship medals this season: Cole Palmer, Aymeric Laporte, Kalvin Phillips and James McAtee.

Palmer left Man City and joined Chelsea. This midfielder only played 10 minutes for Man City in the win over Burnley in round 1. This was also Laporte’s farewell match for fans. The French midfielder moved to another club, Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Phillips and McAtee are still with Man City but play for West Ham and Sheffield respectively on loan. Both have appeared in less than 5 matches for “The Cityzens” this season.

Even though they are not eligible, the four players mentioned above can still receive championship medals if Man City sends them.

“The Cityzens” became the fear of every opponent in the domestic tournament with their 6th championship in just the last 7 seasons. If it weren’t for Liverpool’s outstanding form in the 2019/20 season, Man City would probably have won the Premier League in the last 7 years.
