The MSO team at McLaren recently revealed an unprecedented options package for the 570GT, called Feather Wrap. This exclusive upgrade is the most unique of its kind and is now officially available to purchase.
McLaren’s MSO special department used nearly 10,000 artificial carbon fibers to decorate the entire body of the two-door sports car. The process is completely manual and takes 300 hours to complete.
The 570GT is considered the most suitable supercar model of the British automaker to wear this upgrade package to be able to participate in long journeys such as transcontinental flights.

The synthetic hair strands on the supercar are 7cm long and each strand is coated with a pearlescent primer. The feathers are attached to the vehicle in a direction parallel to the length of the vehicle and the tips of the feathers face forward, helping to reduce the impact of airflow on the body of the vehicle. The hairs act as grooves that contribute to reducing surface elongation.
As the car accelerates, the feathers begin to vibrate and further reduce air resistance. Furthermore, Feather Wrap only makes the car heavier than 2.5kg – equivalent to a layer of metallic paint.
