Rooney accused many MU players of using excuses to avoid playing
According to Independent, the English football legend said that some Manchester United players “faked” injuries to avoid having to play.
In round 37 of the Premier League, despite playing at Old Trafford’s home field, Erik ten Hag’s team lost to Arsenal with a score of 0-1. This disappointing result puts the “Red Devils” at risk of being absent from the European arena next season after being surpassed by Newcastle United and Chelsea.
According to Wayne Rooney, some MU players used injury as an excuse to keep the FA Cup final as well as EURO 2024. He said (recorded by Independent): “There are some good players in the team but they cannot play. show less impressive performances. You look at the injuries and some of those players can play, 100%.”
“EURO 2024 and the upcoming FA Cup final. It’s very easy for players to take time off to look forward to EURO 2024. I’ve seen it myself over the years. I just think injured players won’t get any credit at the moment.”
With someone as experienced as Wayne Rooney, the English football legend’s doubts are completely well-founded.
