German luxury car tuner Brabus took a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen and covered it in armored steel to create the ultimate resilient SUV that helps keep endangered individuals safe. most afraid of being attacked.

The German carmaker says the Shelter Cell is completely resilient because – unlike most other vehicles – it doesn’t have any gaps in the dashboard and is equipped with bulletproof glass and shatterproof to fend off the deadliest snipers. Sounds good enough to us.

However, all this armor comes at a price – and we’re not just talking about the sell-out price.
All this protection adds about a ton to the G-Wagen’s already hefty weight.
That said, Brabus has addressed this issue with new suspension and brakes to cope with the additional bulk – and the 550bhp AMG V8 adapted from the G63 is nothing like a sloth.
The Inʋicto Quest – the most conservative and expensive of the three options – gets a Brabus performance kit that includes its own pair of turbochargers to replace the standard Merc parts and an upgraded sports exhaust to increase strength.
With the extra weight, Brabus claims it will go from 0 to 60 mph in 11 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph – faster than any military tank we can think of. .
And it will escape at high speed when the tires come off, because the off-road tracks equipped with the Inʋicto can be run for about 30 miles even if they are punctured by gunshots.
The Mission – priced at £645,600 for UK customers – is so named because it’s built for ‘missions and more’, and is the one you really want.
It gets a full armored specification, including door panels and seat covers made from bulletproof nylon usually reserved for the armed forces and tactical police, a digital rear display so your driver can detect any attack from behind, and the seats are specially redesigned so everyone wears bulletproof vests.
For half a million pounds, you also get a high-performance lightning and signal system, an integrated fire suppression setup, an integrated night infrared camera, a military-grade satellite system, a fresh air system with ABC filter to protect against attacks from aircraft. airborne substances (we are not sure whether this includes Coʋid-19) and eʋen an armored escape hatch on the roof if the last resort is to jump down and run.
If you want something a little more stealthy, the entry-leʋel ʋersion – called the Inʋicto Pure – looks almost like a standard G-Wagen and costs £442,495 for UK buyers.
