Tragically, a 17-year-old player died on the field after being kicked in the stomach by an opponent

A teenage football player died after being kicked in the stomach during a match in the Algerian amateur league, the boy’s identity was revealed as Wassim Jazzar.

Accordingly, Wassim Jazzar, a 17-year-old player of an Algerian amateur club, was injured when he collided with an opposing defender. While trying to clear the ball, he was accidentally kicked in the stomach by the opponent and immediately fell to the ground.

Players from both teams surrounded the boy when the match was forced to stop. On the field, players, members of both teams and fans all appeared worried. Local press reports said there were no ambulances or doctors in the vicinity so Wassim had to be taken to the hospital by regular car.

He was later confirmed to have passed away, and the cause came from a collision on the field. Mundo Deportivo confirmed that Wassim died immediately after the collision. The sad incident happened right after Colombian football suffered the shock death of Guillermo Beltran, who collapsed during practice.

The Real Santa Cruz striker complained of dizziness and nausea before falling to the field. Club staff tried desperately to resuscitate the striker, quickly calling an ambulance after attempts to wake him were unsuccessful. However, he tragically passed away while being transported to the hospital.

Bolivian football team Real Santa Cruz announced his departure in a statement on their social media pages. Real Santa Cruz director Adolfo Soria Galvarro said of the tragedy: “He was training as usual when he collapsed. They tried to resuscitate him but he passed away while being transported to the clinic.
