We thought the R8 GT RWD was the swan song for Audi’s supercar, but that’s not the case. A new Final Edition based on the coupe is coming to Japan, where only eight cars will be sold. Painted in Ibis White, this motorized machine offers more performance and style.
The R8 Japan Final Edition is equipped with 20-inch wheels with matte bronze spokes polished to look like gold, accompanied by red ceramic brake calipers. The mirror caps are made of carbon fiber, as are the front spoiler and side skirts. Additionally, the rear spoiler, diffuser and side skirts also receive the same light treatment.
Audi Japan also made some changes on the inside, where the dryer-centric cabin has a two-tone theme with Black and Plaster White. The seats are covered in Nappa leather while the headrests and the area behind the seats are covered in Alcantara. Completing the modifications are door sill trims that signify the model’s exclusivity. Anyone who buys a car will also receive a license plate with the VIN number.
Known by its full name, the Audi R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition, the supercar’s ending is priced at 35,080,000 yen. At current exchange rates, that works out to about $247,000.
The R8 is about to retire, following in the footsteps of Audi’s other sports car, the TT.
