The represented car almost completely repeats the style of the previous RS Q e-tron, but in fact it has a completely new and more streamlined body (+ 15%).

Plus, the developers made some adjustments to the layout of the electric SUV, namely removing part of the fenders and expanding the cockpit area.

It allows to reduce the center of gravity and lighten the vehicle’s design by several kilograms. Additionally, such changes again have a positive impact on aerodynamics.

Thanks to that, the new version of the Rally SUV is lighter and more streamlined.

At the same time, it’s neither faster nor required – Dakar regulations require a speed limit of 170 km/h.

However, these features have had a positive impact on the electric car’s range, but the Germans did not give specific figures on the range.

A new pilot interface also debuted on E2. It has four main sections: for racing, public roads, various settings and a separate section with error messages.

This will make things easier for pilots and mechanics. The air conditioner does not operate continuously and is only turned on when it is necessary to maintain the cabin temperature.

Thanks to this, electric economy is achieved. At the same time, the Germans expanded the adjustment capabilities of the climate system for different operating modes.

As before, the racing SUV is driven by electric motors on the front and rear axles.

There is also a gasoline engine, but here it is used as a generator.

The performance of the power plant on the new E2 has not yet been revealed, but the “regular” RS Q e-tron has an electric motor that produces a total of 670 horsepower.

It is known that Audi has optimized the power electronics system. In particular, the racing car has a more precisely calibrated controller and a revised program for auxiliary consumer control.

Well, due to some changes in the space below, the developers tried to simplify access to the wheels, now making changes in the field is much easier.

The Audi RS Q e-tron E2 will make its racing debut at a race in Morocco in October 2022.

And here in Dakar the novelty will take place on January 23. The cars will be driven by drivers Mattias Ekström, Carlos Sainz and Stephan Petersel.
