MU fans believe that the club was right to push Sancho back to his old team, while some Borussia Dortmund fans have gradually lost patience with the English midfielder.
This morning, Borussia Dortmund had a trip to PSV Eindhoven’s home field. The German team is considered better than its opponents thanks to its quality staff. However, BVB was not able to take advantage of that. At the end of 90 minutes, Dortmund drew 1-1 with PSV.
Dortmund led at half-time in the first leg of their last-16 tie in the Netherlands, but the home team equalized from the penalty spot just after half-time. Sancho was withdrawn in the 68th minute. To be fair, the English midfielder had a forgettable night in his return to European football’s biggest stage.
Contrary to expectations, Sancho delivered a disappointing performance. Statistics prove Sancho’s poor playing day. Throughout 68 minutes on the field, the 23-year-old star did not score any goals or assists, nor did he create a single chance or perform a successful dribble.
Sancho has a passing accuracy rate of only 71%, lost the ball 12 times, only touched the ball 31 times, won 2 out of 6 duels….
Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan in January after the English midfielder fell out with coach Erik ten Hag. In September, Ten Hag publicly announced that Sancho did not work hard enough in training as the reason why he was left out of the Red Devils’ trip to Arsenal in the Premier League. Sancho said he was considered a “scapegoat” and refused to apologize. After that, he was dropped from the first team.
MU fans discuss who is at fault but those who thought Ten Hag was wrong now feel right after the midfielder’s poor performance.
“Marco Reus and Sancho completely failed today. It’s a pity, I was hoping to enter the Champions League but the situation is not any better,” a Dortmund fan wrote on X.
“He has shown absolutely nothing and you have a young talent who can threaten defenses on the bench. Edin Terzic is loyal to the worst players,” said another.
One fan added: “Get Sancho out of here bro.”
If Sancho does not improve his performance soon, it will be difficult for Dortmund to buy him outright from Man United.
