Sheffield United Club has just fired women’s team coach Jonathan Morgan after discovering wrongdoing before joining the club.

According to Sheffield United’s official announcement, the club fired women’s team head coach Jonathan Morgan after receiving accusations of his inappropriate behavior before joining the team.

According to Independent, Coach Morgan was reported to have had an affair with a female player playing under him. The identity of this player is not disclosed. It is known that Morgan led the Leicester women’s team from 2014-2021 before moving to Burnley and being appointed by Sheffield United in February 2023.

Sheffield United said that after receiving information related to Mr. Morgan’s behavior before joining the club, they came to the conclusion that his position as coach could no longer be guaranteed. Therefore, coach Morgan’s contract at the team was terminated immediately.

In the past, coach Jonathan Morgan was involved in a scandal related to the death of a Sheffield female player, Maddy Cusack. She passed away last September and is believed to have taken her own life.

A week after Cusack’s departure, her family are said to have lodged a complaint with Sheffield United, outlining a series of problems she had faced, which they said all stemmed from her relationship. She and Coach Morgan.

According to The Athletic, Cusack’s family believes that she was treated so badly by coach Morgan that her spirit was “broken”. Her father said Morgan called the female midfielder a “psychopath” and said she was overweight.

However, according to Independent, Sheffield’s decision to fire Morgan is not related to Maddy Cusack’s departure. The incident is still being investigated by the Women’s Football Association and an independent party.
