That is if these Mattie Sanders videos are worth anything.

Mattie and her husband, who live in Gretna, Louisiana, have so many pets that they’ve begun to describe them as the Sanders Zoo – and unusually, they include two prairie dogs.

“I have always loved animals, and when I saw prairie dogs as pets, I knew I wanted them to be part of our family,” Mattie said. “My husband and I drove to Texas to buy them from a pet store.

“Taking care of them is not too difficult, but they need to be supervised when they go out or they will chew on everything.”

In total they have three dogs, two cats, two prairie dogs, a ferret and a turtle.

But it’s the friendship between one of their prairie dogs, Otis, and their kitten Katrin that takes the cuteness factor to the next level.

The pair are often seen playing and cuddling each other in videos posted to Sanders Zoo’s Instagram and YouTube pages.

As for any expansions to the zoo, they don’t seem likely to happen anytime soon.

“I would love a white prairie dog but they are quite expensive and my husband doesn’t want any more animals,” Mattie says. “Except for chicken, perhaps.”

For now, they will have to deal with three dogs, two cats, two prairie dogs, a turtle – and of course Watson the ferret.
