Many times we hear stories about someone being a victim of violence. Usually, those stories become too shocking when it comes to a person.
But did you know that animals experience similar things?
Some time ago, a story spread on social networks that shocked public opinion.
The 5-year-old boy whose mouth was tied was finally rescued!
In 2015, a resident discovered Caitlyn wandering on the street with electrical tape tied tightly to her mouth. Her mouth was so tight that she couldn’t eat or drink. People were shocked by its appearance and immediately took it to the vet.
The injury caused severe nerve damage and required extensive surgery to reconstruct the jaw. Vets doubt that Caitlyn will one day make a full recovery because her lip was broken and her black tongue had to be removed.
The image of the 15-year-old puppy has caused a backlash demanding justice. People are angry at what happened to Caitlyn and demand that the person who harmed her be punished.
Prosecutors filed criminal charges against Caitlyn’s abuser, William Leonard Dodson, who claimed to have gagged her because she wouldn’t stop barking. Dodson pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison – the maximum sentence in South Carolina for animal cruelty. In 2017, the judge extended the sentence to 15 years in prison.
Attorney Ted Corvey, who took on Caitlyn’s case in 2017, decided to adopt her from his long-standing family. Although she still had to deal with her injuries, she was traumatized and became anxious around men due to the trauma she endured from her violent master.
Caitlyn’s fear gradually disappeared and she is one of the most loving and loving people I have ever met, Corvey told the “Post” and “Courier.”
Caitlin has continued to fight and she is proof that there is hope for all victims of violence.
